OK, so strictly speaking this one might not help you ride your own bike, but if you find yourself with some down time, this fast-paced, arcade style experience brings the best of cycling gaming to your smartphone. You’re challenged to stay hydrated as your in-game character speeds through city centres and rolling hills on a host of challenging circuits. Shaving legs prior to playing is entirely optional.

Bike Brain appBiologic BikeBrain

If tracking is your bag (we know some of you enjoy the geekier side of cycling), this app gives you more stats and measures than you can shake a bike pump at, including heart rate, distance and altitude. Biologic BikeBrain may make you feel like a GB performance analyst – improving the numbers is up to you, though!

BikeCal

Whether you’re trying to shed a few extra pounds, or training for a sportive or challenge, this app can help you get a bit more scientific with your analysis.
