British Cycling and the British Heart Foundation
British Cycling are delighted to be working in partnership with the British Heart Foundation to help get more people riding bikes for fun, for health, and to raise money for charity.
The BHF are one of the UK’s biggest organisers of charity bike rides. As well as the legendary London to Brighton series, they stage a varied programme of challenges around the UK and overseas, including Manchester to Blackpool and London to Bath. The pedal power of BHF fundraisers has contributed towards pioneering research, as well as improving fitness levels and more regular cycling in the process!
‘Cycling is a great inclusive sport that everyone can enjoy and the BHF offers a fantastic series of bike rides whatever level you’re at, distance you want to go or terrain you want to tackle. You’ll also save lives along the way as the money you raise funds research into heart disease and supports those affected by it.’
BHF cycling champion, Great Britain road and track cyclist Andy Tennant
Through our comprehensive membership packages, British Cycling can not only provide insurance and support, discounts and incentives to BHF riders, but also helps to support heart health through a £4 donation for every membership taken out through the charity.
We’ve already run several hugely popular training rides for the London to Brighton Bike Ride in 2014, and a group of our Breeze champions took part in the ride in 2013 too. If you’ve taken part and want to keep riding between challenges, why not join Ride Social, Britain’s biggest network for cyclists? It’s a great way to organise your own group rides and keep in touch.
