Overall Duration On a long ride, it’s sometimes good to have a little break in the middle, or maybe a catch up at the beginning or end to keep it sociable. This means that the overall ride duration may be longer than the actual cycling time.

Breeze Bike Rides in Test Valley

This ride is aimed at people who want to try something a bit longer than my usual 10 mile 'steady-paced' ride though the pace wwill be the same we'll cover 15 miles, 7.5 miles out to The Crown Inn at King's Somborne for an early light lunch, and 7.5 miles back.
There will be hills - down of course, as well as up. If time we'll pause to look at the Saxon Church in Eldon Lane. We'll also be passing close by the site of the palace of John of Gaunt - hence the name, 'King's Somborne'.
We aim to reach lunch around noon and be back in Romsey around 2.45ish. But please remember these are  best estimates.
Please bring something to drink and a spare inner tube to fit your bike in case of puncture. It's a good idea to check your tyres are fully inflated as soft tyres make the hills hard!

Meet the Champions

  • Viv Mackay Viv Mackay Hello I'm Viv,
I ride a really fun machine called a recumbent trike. I became a BREEZE CHAMPION in March 2013 though I've led rides around Romsey for many years so I'm familiar with the road network of surfaced country lanes.

Of course a bike ride is even more fun if there's a stop along the way for coffee and a chat and we do that where we can.

So do come and join us. Bring a roadworthy bike - helmets are advised but optional. Make new friends and, as well as feeling good on your bike, you'll probably see some of the wildlife in this fantastic area of countryside. One thing is certain - you won't be left behind.
