Overall Duration On a long ride, it’s sometimes good to have a little break in the middle, or maybe a catch up at the beginning or end to keep it sociable. This means that the overall ride duration may be longer than the actual cycling time.

Bike Type You probably don’t want to drag your road bike across bumpy trails. Maybe you want to make the most of the suspension on your mountain bike. This helps you match your ride to your bike.

Route Description

Ride Social in Wakefield

The Wakefield District Cycle Forum would like to invite you to our "steady" cycle ride from Anglers Country Park

This event is a leisure ride and stops at various locations to view the Wonders of Wakefield.

The trail starts at Anglers Country Park and stops at Newmillerdam, Pugney's Country Park, Sandal Castle, The Hepworth Gallery, Heath Village and Nostell Priory. Then returning to Anglers Country Park. The Trail is 21 miles.

It's at a steady pace, but you will need to be fairly confident on your bike for this cycle ride. The pace is set by our steadiest rider.

The one thing you will find is that we are a warm and friendly group and we make all newcomers welcome.

We use traffic free routes and some quiet roads. Most rides are best suited to Hybrid or Mountain Bikes.

A limited number of bikes are available to borrow. There is no charge but bikes must be booked in advance by email: info@cycling-wakefield.org.uk

Meet outside Tea Rooms at 10.15am for 10.30am start.

If you require any more info, please email me at info@cycling-wakefield.org.uk
