If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
Discover the secret world of Windermere's west shore, away from the hustle and bustle of Bowness-on-Windermere. This Hidden-Gem of a ride will show you the very best the Lake District has to offer. Relax on the Ferry crossing at the start as you take in the stunning views up and down Windermere before gentling yourself into the purpose-built cycle trail along it's shore. The trail weaves you magically through the forest air amid birdsong before you reconnect with the shoreline and into Wray Castle grounds for a well deserved lunch. There are plenty of spots for that picture perfect shot to share with your family and friends afterwards, on this classic ride that simply has too many highlights to list... Just come and experience it for yourself!

Additional Information

Helmets must be worn by all under 18's regardless of ride level.
Please bring equipment with you to repair punctures, Ride Leaders are there to help but are not responsible for your bike.

• ANDREW TOMLIN Hi everybody, I'm Andrew! I am and have been a keen cyclist in the Lake District for over 25 years and love 'The Great Outdoors'. Cycling offers the opportunity to stay healthy and fit, as well as seeing nature in this beautiful corner of England. I am, first and foremost, a keen mountain biker - the rougher and muddier the ride, the better! But whether off road or on road, I just love my bike. So why not join me for some cycling fun, and if you are a visitor, I have lots of local knowledge about Cumbria and tips for some great cycling outings. Look forward to seeing you, Sky Riders!
• Kim Russell I have enjoyed cycling since the age of 4 and ride my bike for all sorts of reasons - commuting, touring holidays, leisure and for keeping fit. Always at a leisurely pace, I have cycled in Europe, India and New Zealand; last year we did a family ride down part of the River Danube to Vienna.
