If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
If seeing a quieter side of Ambleside and Windermere sounds appealing to you then joining us on this bike ride is just for you.  This 17 mile ride is all about getting away from the busy usual tourist spots and seeing just how beautiful, peaceful and inspiring Lake Windermere is from the western shore.  Along the route we take in the fantastic Wray Castle as well as Esthwaite Water and the quaint village of Hawkshead.  There are a few hills along the way but at the nice steady pace we ride at the views will make it rewarding enough!

Ghyllside Cycles, Ambleside, tel 015394 33592 prior to the ride to book your bike. Bikes will be delivered to the start of the ride.

Additional Information

Helmets must be worn by all under 18's regardless of ride level.
Please bring equipment with you to repair punctures, Ride Leaders are there to help but are not responsible for your bike.
All rides leave at the time stated you must arrive early Ride Leaders will not wait.
