Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Mark Hall Mark Hall I cycle for fun and to keep fit, and that I believe is what Sky Ride is all about. Cycling should be fun and these rides provide the ideal opportunity to meet new people, visit new places and get out and about. It doesn't matter what standard of rider you are or the bike you ride (so long as it works!) So come on and enjoy a ride with us ... and best of all they're free.

... and me? Bikes are my hobby, I cycle bikes and fix them (when I have too). I've done the C2C (Whitehaven to Tynemouth) on a tandem with my daughter over 3 days and Ride Around London (120 miles) in a day. I also hold a C&G; Level 2 Certificate in Cycle Mechanics.

Look forward to meeting you on the ride.

  • Alison Flint I have cycled for many years, had a break when I got my car then took cycling up again about 3 years ago when I started to cycle the 20 mile round trip to work, not looked back, 2 stone lighter I have taken part in several sportive and last year I cycled from Wales to Stonehenge we ended the ride in the middle of the stone circle. I also enjoy cycling with my family.
  • Melanie Carroll Melanie Carroll Me? Fun, friendly, a bit of a cycle chimp!
Cycles to work most every day, and loves to cycle even in the rain. In fact loves to cycle in the rain - it's just really fun, but then so is cycling in the sun, or in a gentle breeze but not when it's blowing a gale!
Short rides are lovely and long rides are a dream, but I'm not a speed racer as I love to enjoy the view with a few stops for pictures and refreshments too :D
Riding a sit up and beg bike currently but can't pull off that Copenhagen cycle chic they all talk about, probably due to being a bit of a cycle chimp (just ask the mascot on the front of my bike!).
Used to ride a beautiful old 5 speed drop handlebar sports bike but sadly I got too old and creaky for it after a tumble that damaged my hip but not my enthusiasm.
I love to cycle and I really hope that I can share that love with lots of other people too, partly why
I'm also a National Standards (Bikeability) Instructor.
My day to day cycle commute takes me to my Independent bookshop - Unicorn Tree Books & Crafts in Lincoln Central Market - and I'm as passionate and committed to books, crafts and community as I am to cycling :D

Rider Comments on the Route

  1. Paul Bacon Wednesday 16th July
  2. Simon Aldous Sunday 25th August
We both really enjoyed the ride this morning, could do with the pace picking ip slightly as we did speed up on the second half and every one seemed comfortable with the speed. Ride leaders were great and very friendly, we would like to do again. Thanks Simon and Maureen
