Sky Ride Local in The Lake District

If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.

Celebration of Cycling
This ride will be part of a special Summer of Cycling Celebration event at Brockhole National Park Visitor Centre. There will be skills courses, electric bikes to try, vintage bikes, how to mend a puncture, face painting and a bike smoothie maker as well as the Sky Ride Local.

Come and join us on this amazing bike ride incorporating a boat trip across Windermere Lake.  Starting from Brockhole Visitor Centre we head across Windermere to access the peaceful western shore.  From here we make our way via Wray Castle www.nationaltrust.org.uk/wray-castle/ on beautiful minor roads to the quaint village of Hawkshead and onwards to Near Sawrey, the location of Beatrix Potter’s home, Hill Top Farm. After an opportunity for refreshments, our ride then descends to the shores of Windermere for a ride back along the new cycle path to Wray Castle and the return boat trip
