Sky Ride Local in East Riding of Yorkshire

Starting from Driffield Leisure Centre, the route follows quiet country roads towards Skerne and Wansford. After reaching the charming village of Nafferton, we'll take a short break at Nafferton Mere (perhaps to feed the ducks!) before heading back to our start point. There will be a couple of stops in total to give you a chance to have a snack and chat with your fellow riders. This ride is very flat, surrounded by lovely countryside, and is ideal for anyone wanting to stretch their legs and get out of town.

If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.

Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Chris Laidler Chris Laidler As someone who doesn't drive my bike is my main means of getting from A to B, regardless of whether it is 5 miles or 100 miles. As such I am now on my third bike in just over 7 years having worn out the other two.
I would love to see more people on their bikes, even if it is only a trip to the shops or work; but also in terms of riding for pleasure, enjoyment and seeing some of this country's wonderful natural beauty.

  • Eric Johnstone Eric Johnstone I have been riding bike as long as I can remember. I have used a bike to get to school, go fishing, keeping fit, communting to work, on holidays and generally just for getting around and enjoying the feeling of riding. I am in a lucky position in that I get to ride a bike while at work. I have taken part in a few sportives and charity rides. I am currently encouraging my grandson with his first balance bike
