Sky Ride Local in Leeds

Come and enjoy this great 28 mile loop that makes the most of the beautiful countryside and lovely Yorkshire villages of East Leeds on this challenging road-based route.  Starting at the Kippax Leisure Centre we head out North East in to the great country lanes in the area with the route heading through (you guessed it) 7 villages.  There are some long hills along the way however you are rewarded with some awesome views at the top, this is Yorkshire after all.  There will be plenty of places to stop, have a breather and take on food and drink.  This route is perfect for those wanting to stretch the legs a bit on a Sunday and those inspired by the Tour de France hitting the area this summer!

You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins, but you’ll need to know your way around a bike and be fairly fit to take part in our Challenging rides. If you’re comfortable riding with other people and fancy a fresh challenge, these rides are perfect for you. They start at around twenty miles long, and are paced at between 11 and 12 miles an hour.

Rider Comments on the Route

I found this challenging as described...but this was positive for me. My first proper road ride as i have always avoided too much on road. Well looked after. Moderate hills pushed me. Got to grips with my gears a bit more and i think i need to alter my saddle height. Half star off because the half way pub was shut (could have done with a rest!)
