London to Cambridge 60 mile challenge

Sunday 13th July at 7.30am This is what time the ride will set off. It’s best to get to the starting point at least 15 minutes beforehand to avoid missing the start.

Starting Point & Postcode
Lea Valley Leisure Centre/ Pickett's Lock  N9 0AS
Overall Duration On a long ride, it’s sometimes good to have a little break in the middle, or maybe a catch up at the beginning or end to keep it sociable. This means that the overall ride duration may be longer than the actual cycling time.
8 hours 45 mins  (6 hours 45 mins cycling)
Bike Type You probably don’t want to drag your road bike across bumpy trails. Maybe you want to make the most of the suspension on your mountain bike. This helps you match your ride to your bike.

Breeze Bike Rides in London

Please only book on this ride if you have a road bike and are prepared to ride at 15mph for 5 hrs straight. This ride is booked particularly for those preparing for the London-Surrey 100. There is currently only one breeze ride leader and we will not be able to well support slower bikes (but I will definitely book another more relaxed ride to Cambridge in October)
This is a challenging ride from London to Cambridge. We will follow some of the charity ride route, aiming to get to Cambridge at Lunchtime where we expect to get the train home (or- I have started the ride extra early so some can cycle back)
This ride is not for beginners, and participants should be riding a road bike or suitable bike that can keep to a medium pace. it will be good if you are looking to progress onto longer distances, training for a sportif or cycling holiday.
Please bring plenty to drink and a snack and/ or money for lunch and of course your train trip back.  The Breeze champion carries some tools and and will help with basic mechanical issues but we don't carry spare inner tubes so a spare suitable for your bike is essential to bring along as well as any specific tools for your bike.
