Sky Ride Local in York

If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.

Come and join us on a ride that takes you from Rowntree Park in York to open country side passing by many local land marks.  The route is also educational as it teachs us about our solar system with its scale model of the planets and their distances from each other.  This version of the route will take us as far as the planet Uranus!

Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Peter Hobson Been cycling for years and absolutely love it. I have done the Etape Du Tour 5 times as well as the Alpe D'Huez triathlon, I am also doing my L2 coaching course and from there i hope to gain the Track, road and TT modules and set up a new Club in my local area.
After years of Cycling i am now giving back to others the experience i have gained over the years. If you have any questions about cycling then please ask me, i am happy to help.
I also love a cup of strong tea white no sugar, or coffee milk 2 sugars and a cake while out on rides.
I look forward to seeing you on the rides and having a chat.
  • Carla Robbie-Tuxford Carla Robbie-Tuxford Hi,

I love cycling and got into the Skyrides for fun. I usually go out twice a week, and I do it for the enjoyment, and the fitness.

I may not look like a traditional cyclist, but I am very sporty and I have good stamina.

If I'm on a ride, I can guarantee that it'll be fun!
  • David Kirk I have cycled since school and really never stoped. I don't race any more but may start again in the future if I get a little more weight off. Possibly some small TTs. I ride each Sat with our local club and commute to work. The best thing about cycling is the company. I have never met someone in a cycling club I couldn't get on with and didn't like.
