Overall Duration On a long ride, it’s sometimes good to have a little break in the middle, or maybe a catch up at the beginning or end to keep it sociable. This means that the overall ride duration may be longer than the actual cycling time.
1 hours 15 mins  (1 hours 0 mins cycling)
Bike Type You probably don’t want to drag your road bike across bumpy trails. Maybe you want to make the most of the suspension on your mountain bike. This helps you match your ride to your bike.

Breeze Bike Rides in Wakefield

From start point we cycle just half a mile on Wheldon Road where we join Fryston cycle trails 300m up on the left from Castleford Rugby ground and from there we are cycling off road in a traffic free environment. The trails take us on mainly hard tracks through woodland and open grassed areas, taking in views of nearby countryside and local nature reserve Fairburn Ings in the distance.
We head around New Fryston playground where we then pick up the red flat circular route which takes us up towards the woods following an anti-clockwise direction and back to the start point of the red route. From there we head back towards the playground and retrace the track back to the beginning on Wheldon Road.
This is an easygoing ride which is well hidden away from the town centre itself and would suit beginners or anyone building their confidence on a bike.

Meet the Champions

  • Tracy Proud Tracy Proud I am a keen, leisure cyclist and an active member of Featherstone Road club, and my husband Gary & myself own our local cycle shop Kendell Cycles.
In the past I have completed Morecambe to Filey Coast to Coast & helped raise over £7,000 for the Prince of Wales hospice by riding the London to Paris challenge of which I consider one of my greatest and most rewarding experiences. Basically though I just enjoy riding my bike both on and off-road on a weekly basis.
Come and join me and other ladies on a ride and enjoy exercise, fresh air, fun and friendship.
