Route Description

Sky Ride Local in Cambridgeshire

Join us on some amazing rides, created in association with our friends at the National Trust. Make the most of some beautiful countryside, and great facilities for cyclists.

If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.

After you have enjoyed a great start to the adventure on the trip out on the BikeBus to the beautiful Wimpole Hall, one of the National Trusts real local treasures the fun really starts.  Rolling out from Wimpole across the idylic estate and through beautiful local villages.  Cross the Greenwich meridian and then make the turn for home completing this lovely 12 mile circular route.

Don't worry though there will be plenty of time to enjoy a well deserved tea and cakes  at the Wimpole tearooms before you jump back on the BikeBus.

Check out the BikeBus time table by clicking on the link below to plan your journey out to Wimpole estate.  Remember to get there early as the ride starts at 10am!

Ride Leaders

  • Andrew Campbell At the last minute signed up for london to cambridge bike ride& haven't looked back since. Definitely got the cycling bug.
  • Cliff Loveday A keen cyclist who took up the sport late in life and caught the cycling bug. An active member of Ely & District Cycling Club and enjoy both the competitive and social aspects of the sport. It's a great way of getting fit and meeting people, wish I had taken it up much earlier. The Sky Rides program is a great way to introduce people to cycling, whatever age. Give it ago, hopefully you will also catch the bug......it's contagious.
  • Nigel Leaney I am a keen recreational road rider. I try to get out on my bike a couple of evenings during the week as well as at weekends to enjoy a ride and try to keep fit. I want as many people as possible to have the chance to enjoy riding as I do and Sky Rides are a great way of doing just that!
  • Felicity Wrenwood Hi ladies, welcome to Breeze! I love riding my bike and encouraging others to take up two wheels! We are a fun group that always welcome new comers and no one's ever left behind. I hope to see you on one of our Breeze rides soon!
