Facilities

Derbyshire are host to a number of excellent cycling facilities, including:
Derbyshire’s BMX track is one of the best in the country having recently hosted regional and national race meetings. The track is open to the public and available at any time, except when race events are being held.
The multi-use sport arena is the first element of Derby’s iconic Leisure Strategy which will further show the world how Derby has been inspired by the Olympic spirit. Construction will start on Monday 26th November 2012 and the Arena is planned to open by November 2014. Check out the Derby council webpage for further details.
A number of bike parking stands are available throughout the City. The council always recommend cyclists use a good quality lock to lock your bike to the stand. Cycle lockers are also available in the Chapel Street and Assembly Rooms car parks in Derby. The lockers provide a safe and secure place for cyclists to leave their bikes when commuting in to the city centre. Lockers are available free of charge, but cyclists need to bring their own padlock to lock them.
