Training

Accredited training in cycling skills is available to anyone over 16 through the Open College Network. For the younger rider, Middlesbrough Council provides free cycle training for school children in years five to seven, organised through the term-time curriculum.
National standards training including Bikeability is also provided by Middlesbrough Cycle Centre, a Middlesbrough Environment City project supported by the Northern Rock Foundation, Sport England and Middlesbrough Council. The Cycle Centre is based at Middlesbrough bus station and is only a five minute walk from the town centre.
