Training

Do you want to get out and about in Plymouth? Going by bicycle is quick, easy, cheap, good for you and fun! Plymouth City Council offers free cycle training to anyone who lives, works or studies in Plymouth.

Bikeability for children and young people

Cycle training is now available for most year six students through their schools, supported by funding that Plymouth City Council has secured from the Department for Transport. Please contact your child's school in the first instance if your child is a year six pupil. If your child is older, then please contact bikelinks@plymouth.gov.uk or telephone 01752 550729 to arrange free training.

On road training for adults

If you want to be able to commute to work by bike, nip to the shops, ride with your kids to school, get fitter or just go out for a ride for fun, we can offer you cycle training to improve your bike handling skills and boost your confidence on the roads. For more details contact Brett Nicolle by emailing cycling@plymouth.gov.uk or call 01752 307704. Download the training flyer (http://www.plymouth.gov.uk/freeadultcycletraining.pdf).

Free training is also offered for all Plymouth residents and can also be organised for employers' staff and clients of other agencies – please contact bikelinks@plymouth.gov.uk or telephone 01752 550729.

Bike It Plus

Bike It Plus is a brand new project. It aims to increase the number of children (and parents and staff too) cycling, walking and scooting to school. If you think your child's school would benefit from taking part, just ask their teacher to contact Ryan Evans by emailing ryan.evans@plymouth.gov.uk or call 01752 307758 for more information.
