Free bike checks for Sky Riders this summer
Like the idea of joining a Sky Ride this summer but worried your bike’s not up to it?
Everyone who signs up for a Sky Ride big bike event is entitled to a free expert bike check (worth £14.99) at Halfords. To get yours, simply print off your registration email and take it, along with some ID, to your nearest Halfords store.
The Halfords bike check includes the following:
- All bolts for correct torque settings
- Both wheels run freely and are true
- Bottom bracket for play
- Security of the handlebar stem, and all handlebar controls
- Operation, effectiveness and alignment of brakes
- Brakepads for wear and damage
- Alignment and wear of front and rear mechs
- Pedals for wear and damage.
In addition to the comprehensive checks mechanics will undertake the following visual checks:
- Front chainwheel, rear sprockets and chain for wear and damage
- Frame and other core components for wear and damage
- Damage to hubs, spokes, rims and tyres
- Condition of suspension forks.
The above excludes parts (if required) which are charged at listed price. All Halfords stores in the UK are participating.
