2 hours 15 mins  (1 hours 30 mins cycling)
Bike Type You probably don’t want to drag your road bike across bumpy trails. Maybe you want to make the most of the suspension on your mountain bike. This helps you match your ride to your bike.

Sky Ride Local in Cheshire West and Chester

Come with us as we ride the old salty rails through the heart of some of Cheshire's finest countryside. The route is suitable for all types of bikes and trailers and offers a fantastic ride for all abilities.  We'll pull out of Whitegate Station and head North West towards Delamere Forest with opportunities to stop and take on water for your boilers while taking in beautiful lakes and woodland.  We then turn and gather a full head of steam as we head towards our next destination which is the only working Rock Salt mine in the UK.   Our final destination is back at Whitegate Station where all passengers can dis-embark from this thoroughly enjoyable journey back in time.  All aboard!

If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
