Sky Ride Local in Coventry

A great ride that takes you out of the City and through some glorious quiet country lanes meandering through rural Coventry. We start with a ride around Joseph Cash Primary School 600m cycling track then wander through the streets up to Kersley where the houses are swapped for stables, woodland and rolling fields. We embrace some fantastic views of Warwickshire and the rural 'heart of England' on this wonderful ride.

If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.

Meet the Ride Leaders

  • James Harrison James Harrison I have been riding now for 3 years, after I stopped playing rugby I needed something to keep me fit, I started riding my bike to get a break from just running. As soon as I got onto my new bike in 2009 I realised that it was love at first ride. Since then I have ridden over 2000 miles each year, completed several 100 mile sportives and managed to conquer 2 Etape Du Tours. When I'm not taking on the mountains of the Alps I love nothing more than to train with my 2 children of 5 and 2 years, my daughter who's 5 sits on the back of my bike with a tag along (makes those hills a little
tougher!) and my son sits in a seat on the back of my wife’s bike. My love for cycling has now entered my work place as I have now set up an industry cycling club called MediaVelo to encourage the people of the media industry out of the pubs and onto their bikes. With over 200 follows it is going from strength to strength.
  • Tony Paplauskas Hi!
My name is Tony and I'll be one of your Ride Leaders for the Sky Ride you'll be joining us for in the near future. For my day job, I'm a primary PE specialist and teach cycling skills at my school in Coventry. I'm also a Bikeability trained instructor and of course a Sky Ride Leader! This will be my second year working as a leader and I'm once again looking forward to getting out into the countryside and sharing rides with as many of you as possible. Here's to some great days out - bring the sunshine with you!
  • Zorena Paplauskas Zorena Paplauskas Hi I’m Zorena, I’ve been cycling on and off over the last twenty years but became ‘hooked’ after cycling around the streets of Rome whilst on holiday. Over the last couple of years I’ve ditched the gym in favour of getting out on my bike to enjoy the fresh air and scenery with family and friends and other Breeze ladies. I look forward to meeting old, and new faces on our ladies only Breeze rides. I’d love to get you out on your bike, whether you are a ‘newbie’ or a more experienced cyclist. Hope to see you soon!
