Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Robert Maskell Robert Maskell Hello my name is Rob.
I have been cycling since my teens.
My main interest is cycle touring, I was a member of West Bromwich CTC for a number of years.
I really enjoyed the Sunday morning club runs and the weekends away youth hosteling.
Now my cycling consists of day rides to local beauty spots covering around 40 miles, and cycling off road exploring the tracks and trails of the Wyre Forest and Cannock Chase, and of course leading Sky rides.
I like to do all of the maintenance and repairs to my bikes myself.
I currently have two bikes, a GT that I use for off road and a Ridgeback that I use for road work.
Well I hope to see you out on a local Sky ride soon
  • Neil Newman Neil Newman Hi
My name is Neil. I have cycled since i was a child and still cycle to work each day. I have done lots of charity rides all over the country in that time, my personal best being John O’Groats to Lands End in ten days which i did in 2010 .
This is my first year as a SKY Ride Leader and I’m really looking forward to getting out there and meeting new people and encouraging more people to cycle.
Hope to see you all soon
    Neil
  • Janet Steel Hello, I didn't get on a bike until in my twenties and then started using one to go a short journey to work, I started exploring Sustrans routes with a friend and eventually joined a cycling club which is a great way to meet people and explore the countryside as well as improve as a cyclist. I now enjoy teaching bikeability and encouraging anyone to get going on their bike.
