Sky Ride Local in East Staffordshire

This traffic-free ride will take us to the pump house and back to the car park via the weir and Burton Bridge. It's a scenic route, with most of the ride on footpaths and only a tiny section on a road used by vehicles to enter a car park.

We will set off from the rear of the car park at the Meadowside Leisure Centre and ride on the footpaths around the area known as The Washlands. We will ride by the Oxehay, cycle on the Ferrybridge before heading out towards the River Trent, reaching the pump house. We then return via the Oxehay, Cherry Orchard and cross Andressey Bridge into the Garden of Remembrance.  Finally, we pass the Parish Church of St Modwen and then back on to the Washlands on our way back to Meadowside.

We will have opportunities to stop and look at the wildlife and take refreshment breaks and children will enjoy the playground and picnic area at the end of the ride.  This ride is ideal for beginners, families and people who wish to gain confidence on a bike, but everyone is welcome!

Excellent first skyride, the kids loved it. Leaders really good, straight to one youngster when he fell off, expertly re-attached chain for the other, which would have taken me an age! Looking forward to our next ride :-)
