Meet the Ride Leaders

  • John Popham John Popham I ride thousands of miles each year on all types of roads. It's great being able to get around under my own power and you can enjoy and appreciate our beautiful countryside so much more. I have ridden from Lands End to John O'Groats and many other long distance cycle rides.
  • Jeremy Sainter I started cycling as a kid and had a few adventures on a bike before cycling took a back seat to rugby and fishing as a teenager. At university the bike came out again as a cheap mode of transport and was then swiftly forgotten about until much later in life. I stupidly agreed to do John o’Groats to Lands Ends, yes I know it’s the wrong way round but that’s the way we did it because its downhill all the way!

That made me realised that keeping fit, aka cycling, was not something that you could just start and stop so my interest was fired up again. Since then I have lost a good stone in weight (7kgs if your metric) got into mountain biking, running (well sort of) adventure racing and just a general love of the great outdoors. I help organise running and biking events as one of my many jobs and whenever I can I volunteer or help out on event that interests me. I was a volunteer at the Olympics and I’m a volunteer mountain bike trail builder. This year I have volunteered as a Tour maker and I am waiting to hear if I got a place.

I plan to keep cycling as long as I can and try to not fall off too often.
  • Robert Sample hi, my name is robert (sam) sample everybody calls me sam . i love cycling so hoping to spread the love ,so get out there and have fun,get fit,and see some beautifull countryside along the way . hope to see you all soon . sam.
