Sky Ride Local in Torbay

Join us on some amazing rides, created in association with our friends at the National Trust. Make the most of some beautiful countryside, and great facilities for cyclists.
If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
Join us for this charming ride from Paignton out to Greenway.  Making the use of cycle paths and quiet roads we will leave Paignton on our way to see the beloved holiday home of the famous Agatha Christie.  This rolling route has great views throughout but some of the best are saved for our stop at Greenway where there is a National Trust Cafe where we can enjoy a drink and maybe a cake overlooking the river Dart.  After our little pit stop we will make our way home again where possible using quiet roads and cycle paths.

Helmets must be worn by all under 18's regardless of ride level.
Please bring equipment with you to repair punctures, Ride Leaders are there to help but are not responsible for your bike.
All rides leave at the time stated you must arrive early Ride Leaders will not wait.

  This is my second year leading Sky Rides, last year was fantastic fun, I had a chance to lead some great rides, I really enjoyed meeting new riders and watching their confidence grow over the weeks. I am looking forward to meeting some new faces and welcoming back riders from 2013.

• Phil Edwards A Charity Ride London-Paris in 2009 got me back into cycling on a regular basis. I'm no competition monster but given time I'd like to get more involved in the odd Sportive but for now I'm very happy teaching youngsters road skills through the Bikeability Scheme involving local schools in the Torbay area.
  
  I used to ride alot in my younger days and if I have one regret it's not having kept it up. It's a fantastic pastime for young and old and if you've not previously been out on two wheels or having been out and still feeling a little apprehensive, fear not come out and join us for some two wheeled fun!
