Sky Ride Local in Dudley

Starting off adjacent to Mary Stevens Park, this 'Healthy Hub' has ample free parking and public toilets which makes it almost perfect. An undulating route, this will quickly take you out of the Black Country conurbation and into the rolling hills of South Staffordshire around Kinver.  Using many of the quieter back lanes, the Kinver Klimer takes in the 'Sheepwalks climb' - a challenging but definitely 'doable' favourite amongst the local cycling fraternity, and one to tell your mates about in the pub afterwards.  With unobstructed views over towards Shropshire and the Clee Hills, the route provides great opportunities to enjoy the countryside and remind ourselves of one of the many advantages cycling holds.

Like all good routes, it also has a lovely tea stop built in and, although this is within the last 8 miles of the route,  just as importantly there are no real climbs afterwards so you really can indulge yourself and have that extra wedge of cake !.  A route that has been enjoyed by those that have ridden it so far and a great way of introducing yourself to the longer cycle rides.  See you there !!!

You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins, but you’ll need to know your way around a bike and be fairly fit to take part in our Challenging rides. If you’re comfortable riding with other people and fancy a fresh challenge, these rides are perfect for you. They start at around twenty miles long, and are paced at between 11 and 12 miles an hour.

I'm a keen cyclist and runner, and have taken my bike over the Fred Whitton course, as well as over the French Alps.
