Sky Ride Local in Glasgow

You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins, but you’ll need to know your way around a bike and be fairly fit to take part in our Challenging rides. If you’re comfortable riding with other people and fancy a fresh challenge, these rides are perfect for you. They start at around twenty miles long, and are paced at between 11 and 12 miles an hour.
An undulating 27 mile route from the Botanic Gardens on Queen Margaret Drive, out through Maryhill and the suburbs of Bearsden and Milngavie to a climb over the moor to Strathblane.  Then west through pleasant rolling farmland at the the foot of the Campsie Fells to Lennoxtown before heading back south to Torrance and east towards Bearsden and into Milngavie. All before we head back for a well earned cup of tea!

Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Paul Middleton Paul Middleton This is my fourth year as a Ride leader and
Cycling has been one of my main sporting passions, along with snowboarding and football. Having been introduced to cycling by my brother-in-law who was a Commonwealth track and road rider, he was a good teacher. Once I bought a second hand road bike I was hooked on the bike and never looked back. Having cycled in many Locations both in the UK and Europe this has given me some great memories and the chance to meet some great folk. Cycling for me now is the commute to work, going out with friends at the weekend and sportive rides.
Here's to another great year with Sky and British Cycling, and I look foward to seeing you all on a Sky Ride soon.
  • Andrew Williams Andrew Williams Hi, I'm Andrew
