Sky Ride Local in Barnsley

Come and join us for a lovely leisurely ride alongside the Elsecar canal between two of Barnsley's finest tourist venues.
There will be a very short section of road work from the car park until we get to the Trans Pennine Trail, but once we have joined it we are traffic free all the way to RSPB Old Moor.  There are a couple of road crossings on the route but there is no need to worry about these as our Ride Leaders will help you get over them.
We will have plenty of time for a break, a chat and some bird spotting at RSPB Old Moor before we start on return journey back to the Elsecar Heritage Centre, where if we are lucky we might catch a glimpse of a Heritage Steam or Diesel locomotive.
Not cycled for a while and looking for an easy way to get back in the saddle? Fancy a fun way to get your friends or kids riding? Our Easygoing rides are great for building confidence for all abilities and ages along relaxed, mostly traffic-free routes. They’re up to six miles long, with a gentle pace of around six miles an hour.
