Dudley MBC promote cycling as a form of transport through their Cycling Training Programme encouraging people to cycle more safely and more often. The scheme is delivered by a team of experienced instructors and is based on the National Standards for Cycling which falls into three categories.
Level 1 – bike handling skills in a controlled environment away from roads
Level 2 – skills and understanding to make a trip on quiet roads
Level 3 – make a trip on busy roads, using complex junctions
If you are starting to cycle for the first time, or returning to cycling after a gap, a great way to improve skills and gain confidence is to undertake cycle training.

Where to ride

The Department of Transport have developed a Cycle Journey Planner to helps cyclists make the most of the cycling routes and opportunities available in the surrounding area. The website enables users to work out the quietest, quickest, or most recreational routes available. Instructions and linear maps can be printed or downloaded to a handheld GPS device.
The borough map shows recommended routes which have been identified by local cyclists and council officers, as well as off-road cycle paths, bike shops, parks and leisure facilities across the borough.
