A North Breeze!

Bradford Breeze workshop

Over the last few weeks we’ve held the first workshops designed to give our new Breeze champions all the skills they need to enthuse other women about getting on their bikes.

The aim of the workshops is to bring champions together to learn more about their roles, the wider Breeze network, and to equip them with best practice knowledge of organising and delivering bike rides. Champions from across West Yorkshire, including Bradford and Leeds, met up at the relaxing Half Moon Cafe in Roberts Park, Bradford, where each was given a toolkit to help with their groups. After chatting to each other over coffee and cake, British Cycling’s Yorkshire Recreation Manager Dan Goodey gave everyone an insight into other initiatives taking place across Yorkshire.

Another workshop took place in Manchester, where there was a real buzz about the first wave of bike rides already happening in the area. The Breeze Network Manchester is well established and has a social networking presence through Facebook and Twitter. Jackie Brennan, British Cycling’s Recreation Manager for Manchester, was on hand at the workshop to provide guidance and information about local routes and partnerships. Additionally, some of our Breeze tutors came along to learn more about the programme and support the new Breeze champions.

We'll be hosting further workshops for Breeze champions in Birmingham, Blackburn, Blackpool, Middlesbrough, Bath and Milton Keynes in the next few weeks. Find out more.
