Social cycling groups

The Sky Ride campaign is inspiring lots of us to get out on our bikes a bit more.
Some of our fantastic Ride Leaders have set up social cycling groups – informal groups offering even more opportunities to get out and do some local bike riding.
Ride Leader Laurence Collins set up a group so that he and some fellow Sky Ride Local riders could do some more regular local cycling.
After the Sky Rides finished the group decided to keep on cycling and take their bike riding a bit further – and they’ve certainly done that! Laurence works for Monarch airlines, so when the group's Sunday ride went past Manchester airport, Laurence thought it was the perfect opportunity to show his fellow riders the inside of an aircraft hangar. All agreed it was one of the more unusual places for a mid-ride pit stop. The group enjoyed a unique aeronautical tour before heading back to the bikes.
