If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
An 18.9 mile circular ride from Braunstone out to Thornton with a circuit of the reservoir, following at times, the route of the Swannington railway, built by George Stevenson. The route follows NCR 63 on a mixture of disused rail trackbed, nature reserves and rural roads. Picturesque Thornton Reservoir has a small visitor centre, a sculpture trail, a woodland walk and a game fishery, while Martinshaw's mixed woodland is a visual treat and forms part of the National Forest.

Helmets must be worn by all under 18's regardless of ride level.
