With absolutely no need for any previous knowledge or experience of bike maintenance, this workshop is ideal for any recreational cyclist. This course is designed for those who want to gain the basic but essential skills to maintain their bike. During the three hour workshop you’ll cover the following:

What does it all mean?

• Basic bike anatomy
• Safety check prior to every ride
• Making cycling jargon simpler – enabling the rider to feel confident when talking to experts about your bike

Putting it all together – wheels, saddles and chains

• How to take your wheels, saddle and chains on and off your bike, with handy tips along the way

Puncture repair – ‘The thing we all fear the most’

• Changing an inner-tube and how to inflate and deflate tyres in the event of a puncture during a ride, with handy tips

Stop & Go – brakes and gears

• Brakes – an introduction into the adjustment and checking of brakes and brake blocks
• Gears – an introduction into adjusting and indexing gears.

All the basics for £45.00

There’s no need to bring your own bike or tools, refreshments will be provided, and anyone who registers for a workshop will automatically receive British Cycling Ride membership (worth £24) free of charge.
