Fourways Loop

Sunday 8th September at 2.00pm This is what time the ride will set off. It’s best to get to the starting point at least 15 minutes beforehand to avoid missing the start.

Starting Point & Postcode
Cupid Green Playing Fields Car Park Redbourn Road HP2 7BA
Overall Duration On a long ride, it’s sometimes good to have a little break in the middle, or maybe a catch up at the beginning or end to keep it sociable. This means that the overall ride duration may be longer than the actual cycling time.
2 hours 30 mins  (1 hours 50 mins cycling)
Bike Type You probably don’t want to drag your road bike across bumpy trails. Maybe you want to make the most of the suspension on your mountain bike. This helps you match your ride to your bike.

Sky Ride Local in Hemel Hempstead

If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Meet the Ride Leaders

  • David Puddifoot
  • John Metcalf John Metcalf Hello.
I’ve lived in, and cycled around, St Albans for the last 40 years.

Before retiring from full-time work I was a regular commuter cyclist taking my folding bike on the train into London. More recently, as a committed utility cyclist I have taken my grandchildren to and from nursery, school and activities on a variety of cycles including a tricycle, covered trailer, kiddieback tandem and now on their own bicycles. I am happy to share information on these.

My aim is to encourage more people to cycle and cycle more often. It’s enjoyable, healthy and a convenient way to travel. Skyrrides are an opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy cycling, meet other people and develop their confidence.

I campaign for better provision for cyclists, as an active member of St Albans and Hertfordshire Cycle Campaigns, and am a Bikeability instructor in local schools. Just ask if you want further details of any of these or information on local routes or maps.
