Sunday 29th September at 10.00am This is what time the ride will set off. It’s best to get to the starting point at least 15 minutes beforehand to avoid missing the start.

Starting Point & Postcode
Lily Hill Drive car park Lily Hill Drive (next to ‘The Running Horse’ pub) RG12 2UG
Overall Duration On a long ride, it’s sometimes good to have a little break in the middle, or maybe a catch up at the beginning or end to keep it sociable. This means that the overall ride duration may be longer than the actual cycling time.
2 hours 55 mins  (1 hours 55 mins cycling)
Bike Type You probably don’t want to drag your road bike across bumpy trails. Maybe you want to make the most of the suspension on your mountain bike. This helps you match your ride to your bike.

Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Mark Lyford As well as SkyRide leader, I am a National Standards Instructor (bikeability), primary teacher and run spring road cycling training camps to Almeria in southern Spain every year.
  • Marcus Gilbert I caught the cycling bug in August 2011 and have since ridden several sportives, typically of 60K to 100K. I upgraded to a bobby-dazzler carbon-fibre bike in Feb 2012 with a view to get out there and do more rides. In July 2013 I rode a London to Paris, 320 mile, charity ride for Action Medical Research, which has inspired me to do more 'big' rides in the future. Riding with groups of like-minded cycle buddies is what makes it fun for me, hence the reason I became a Skyride Leader. I look forward to riding with you.
