Brueton Park Bash

Sunday 6th October at 10.00am This is what time the ride will set off. It’s best to get to the starting point at least 15 minutes beforehand to avoid missing the start.

Starting Point & Postcode
Cycle parking/stands in the south west corner of Brueton Park car park Warwick Road B91 3HW
Overall Duration On a long ride, it’s sometimes good to have a little break in the middle, or maybe a catch up at the beginning or end to keep it sociable. This means that the overall ride duration may be longer than the actual cycling time.
1 hours 15 mins  (35 mins cycling)
Bike Type You probably don’t want to drag your road bike across bumpy trails. Maybe you want to make the most of the suspension on your mountain bike. This helps you match your ride to your bike.

Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Lorraine Doran Lorraine Doran Hi my name is Lorraine. I have cycled for many years and really enjoy both the fitness side of cycling and the social side. I am a senior road safety officer for Solihull Council and I am very lucky that part of my remit is to deliver bikeability to adults and students who live and work in Solihull. I am an accredited train the trainer and have also successfully completed Level One of MIAS (mountain bike instructor course). I have been a Breeze champion for British Cycling for twelve months and have met lots of lovely people. So come along to a ride and I look forward to meeting you to.
  • Sue Palmer Hi my name is Sue and I am a Breeze/Sky ride leader. I have been cycling now for 7 years but in the last couple of years more regularly. In 2011 I completed my first 100mile in a day it took 7hrs 13mins with 3 coffee stops, the feeling at the end was awesome in 2012 I also completed 10 sportives over the summer months and another 100mile. I am now looking forward to passing on the knowledge I have gained and encouraging others to get the enjoyment from cycling that I do. I am a qualified National Standards Cycle Instructor and am working with students around the Solihull borough. So why not come and join us on the many varied and friendly rides that we do in the pretty country lanes, parks/cycle paths and canal towpaths in and around Midlands.
  • Julie Harvey Hi, my name is Julie I have enjoyed cycling for many years. I have been on some lovely family cycling holidays to Holland and last year cycled around Lake Constance in Switzerland, Austria & Germany, which was beautiful!
I love to be outside in the fresh air particularly after a day in the office. I really love the freedom of getting out on my bike, I discovered Breeze last July & have become completely hooked, I love everything about Breeze.
I have met some wonderful like minded ladies & made some lovely friends, we progressed together last summer and in October we had our first cycling weekend away together, we covered 100 miles in 2 days. We are now planning another challenge for this year. I decided to train to become a Breeze champion because I want to help other ladies discover the joy of Breeze, we are lucky to have some beautiful countryside & lots of lovely quiet lanes around Solihull. Oh and there is ALWAYS cake and a cuppa at the end of our rides! So if you like cycling, chatting and cake then Breeze is for you! So whatever your cycling ability come and join us for a fun, friendly bike ride.
  • Mark Clayton I have enjoyed cycling for many years, mostly as a non-competitive leisure activity and, for the last decade or so, as my means of commuting to work as a science and maths teacher. I thoroughly enjoy introducing others to the joys of pedal power!

Rider Comments on the Route

  1. Glenn Moreton Sunday 6th October
  2. sandra waldron Sunday 9th June
    Would love to more there.
  3. Ian Clare Wednesday 17th August
Having done a number of Sky Rides, this one was a little too easy, OK for cyclists returning after a long time off the bike, but as I do around 40miles per week, this was not challenging enough. My 7 year old son thought it was a bit boring and wanted to ride a bit faster!!!
  4. Alan Bridges Sunday 10th July
Good ride with very friendly leaders, pity so many who had registered didn't turn up.
