Overall Duration On a long ride, it’s sometimes good to have a little break in the middle, or maybe a catch up at the beginning or end to keep it sociable. This means that the overall ride duration may be longer than the actual cycling time.

Breeze Bike Rides in Derbyshire Dales

This ride is aimed towards women who are confident riding on roads and who have a good degree of general fitness as we will be going up and down hills. It is suitable or road bikes or hybrid bikes fitted with road tyres.

We will meet at Curbar School where there is plenty of free car parking then head along the main road towards Baslow. The first hill takes us out the back of Baslow to Hassop then we head to Bakewell. Climbing out of Bakewell on the Monyash Road, we head to Youlgreave, descending steeply across Lathkill Dale (you need good brakes for this or else a strong nerve)! From here, we wiggle our way round to the B5056 and follow this south to Winster then descend into Darley Dale. We then take the A6 for a short section to Rowsley, returning back through Chatsworth Park.

Remember to dress appropriately for the weather and don't forget to bring a pump, spare inner tube, puncture repair kit, drink, snack and money for the cafe stop!

Look forward to seeing you!

Meet the Champions

  • Christine Dicken Christine Dicken I've been riding on and off for about 12 years, initially for commuting and now purely for pleasure and exercise. I'm not the fastest or the fittest but I get there in the end and enjoy the journey! My cycling habits have been curtailed over the last few years following the birth of my son but I'm thrilled that he now has developed a love of cycling and I hope to help other women to enjoy cycling and encourage their children too.
