Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Gary Baker
  • Robert Maskell Hello my name is Rob.
I have been cycling since my teens.
My main interest is cycle touring, I was a member of West Bromwich CTC for a number of years.
I really enjoyed the Sunday morning club runs and the weekends away youth hosteling.
Now my cycling consists of day rides to local beauty spots covering around 40 miles, and cycling off road exploring the tracks and trails of the Wyre Forest and Cannock Chase, and of course leading Sky rides.
I like to do all of the maintenance and repairs to my bikes myself.
I currently have two bikes, a GT that I use for off road and a Ridgeback that I use for road work.
Well I hope to see you out on a local Sky ride soon
  • Paul Elkington I cycle to work each day and cycle for shopping and general day to day stuff.

My commute bike is a Surly LHT that has seen me through about 15,000 miles over the two years i have had it.
My play bike is a single speed Surly Karate Monkey.
My work bike is an Xtracycle conversion that turned an old mountain bike into a cargo carrier. I now use it to carry shopping, rubbish, tools, and even family members around my local area.

I am a firm believer in the benefits of cycling to the individual and to the wider society. If i can help you in any way on any of our rides please feel free to give me a shout. I look forward to seeing you on the rides.

  • Mir Zaman This is a great initiative nicely put together by Sky and British Cycling. I've been involved with these rides for the past couple of years both as a participant and as Ride Lead and enjoyed every single one of them. I enjoy cycling and use a hybrid in different terrains to keep fit. I'll look forward to meeting you, we'll have some fun out on two wheels for a change and get a breath of fresh air too...Ride Well and Keep Safe!
