Sky Ride Local in Glasgow

Not cycled for a while and looking for an easy way to get back in the saddle? Fancy a fun way to get your friends or kids riding? Our Easygoing rides are great for building confidence for all abilities and ages along relaxed, mostly traffic-free routes. They’re up to six miles long, with a gentle pace of around six miles an hour.
Situated in Glasgow's oldest park, this five mile, flat, traffic-free ride is great for a family day out. Starting at Glasgow Green's major structure the Winter Gardens, this circuit takes in some of the most historic buildings and statues in Glasgow. There are toilet facilities and a café at the People's Palace which is an ideal stopping point at the half way point before continuing on the second lap where you can feed the geese on the banks of the River Clyde. A great leisurely bike ride.

Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Bill McLaren Bill McLaren I'm the ride leader that proves you don't have to be super fit to enjoy cycling. In fact I got back on 2 wheels after having a heart attack in 2008 while out in the hills (Air/Sea rescue is not the best way to get a free helicopter ride).
Since then I've taken part in Skyride Local for a few years as well as doing a some charity rides and mainly just leave the car at home in favour of the bike whenever I can.
  • Eddie Leehan Eddie Leehan I have recently returned to leisure cycling after a break of a number of years. I am keen to promote cycling for all ages and abilities, in a safe, enjoyable and fun format.
