Sky Ride Local in Glasgow

If you’re fairly confident on your bike on dirt and gravel surfaces and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Off-Road Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, there is barely a metre of tarmac in sight on these rides so come and enjoy the scrunch of gravel and the squelch of mud under your tyres with us! Rides are between 6 and 15 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
Love cycling? Then bring your bike to Whitelee! The trails are great for a leisurely cycle as we ride a lovely loop round Lochgoin. There is the Loch and wild morland to explore and the amazing site of hundreds of wind turbines generating green energy for Scotland. Afterwards you can choose lock your bike in the cycle store at the Visitors Centre and enjoy the café and exhibitions.

Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Ralph Kelly Ralph Kelly Hi I am Ralph,

This is my third year being a Ride Leader for Sky and British Cycling and I am looking forward to meeting you all on the rides I will be leading over the coming weeks.

I have been riding bikes since i was a kid and started out like most children of the eighties on my bmx . I then progressed into riding mountain bikes and did little bit of cross country racing in my teens. Later in life I started riding downhill mountain bikes and raced for a couple of seasons.

These days I just like to ride bikes, whether its road riding, cross country, downhill or jumps.

Hope to see you all soon on a Skyride local.

  • Colette Arthur Hi I'm Colette,

I cycle for leisure; mainly mountain biking although have been riding on more roads recently in preparation for Pedal Scotland.

I look forward to meeting you on a Sky Ride Local event soon!
