Sky Ride Local in Barnsley

If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
Join us on this lovely 14 mile ride that is a treat for all the family.  Starting and finishing at Cannon Hall which is a fine example of a grand stately home that was developed to its grand proportions through the riches gained by a family in the 18th Century.  We make our way from Cannon Hall exploring the amazing country lanes on our way to the picturesque village of Cawthorne.  The ride continues around the country lanes towards Hoylandswaine, Gunthwaite, Upper Denby before eventually stopping at The Yummy Yorkshire Ice Cream Company for refreshments (this one’s a treat for the kids and the adults). Feast yourself on a varied of flavours of their delicious artisan ice cream.  After the well-earned break we make our way back to Cannon Hall, why not make a day of it and take a picnic along and spend some time in the gardens!
