Sky Ride Local in Stockton-on-Tees

You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins, but you’ll need to know your way around a bike and be fairly fit to take part in our Challenging rides. If you’re comfortable riding with other people and fancy a fresh challenge, these rides are perfect for you. They start at around twenty miles long, and are paced at between 11 and 12 miles an hour.

A gorgeous circular ride out from Preston Park to the beautiful nearby countryside. Within just 4 miles we'll be out of town taking in views of the Cleveland Hills. The 30 mile route is mainly on road so a hybrid or road bike are recommended. Perfect for a blast of fresh air and a challenging ride out in great company!

Please note that when we use this route to run a ride on Sunday 11th August we are partnering with the Ridewell Festival to promote cycling and road safety with the support of Cleveland Police.  In addition to the Sky Ride Local guided ride there will be lots of family activities on offer at the Ridewell Festival including, Go Ride Skills from British Cycling and displays from the brilliant Team 3Sixty bicycle stunt team.

Additional Information

Helmets must be worn by all under 18's regardless of ride level.
Please make sure your bike is in good working order and bring equipment with you to repair punctures, Ride Leaders are there to help but are not responsible for your bike.
All rides leave at the time stated you must arrive early Ride Leaders will not wait.

  • Simon Groves Simon Groves Hi, I'm one of the newer Sky Ride Local, Assistant Ride Leaders.

    I enjoy mountain biking and more recently road cycling. I commute by bike so I ride most days, it is a great way to improve fitness. I've just started to go cycle camping and touring. I like to build and maintain my own bikes and I quite enjoy wheel building as its quite relaxing.
  • Andrew Black Andrew Black I enjoy off road riding mainly XC though i do get out on the local network trails and further, recently completed C2C on mtb in 12hr 37min, I have an intrest in Track n Trail Cycles which offer mobile servicing and a range of part & accessories. My current Rides are a Zesty 214 and a Hybrid (not my favourite)
