Not cycled for a while and looking for an easy way to get back in the saddle? Fancy a fun way to get your friends or kids riding? Our Easygoing rides are great for building confidence for all abilities and ages along relaxed, mostly traffic-free routes. They’re up to six miles long, with a gentle pace of around six miles an hour.

A nice flat route taking in the traffic-free cycle paths in Ingleby Barwick and offering scenic views of the River Tees. This route is ideal for families or anyone who wants to boost their confidence on a bike.

Additional Information

Helmets must be worn by all under 18's regardless of ride level.
All ages are welcome. Those under the age of 5 must be in a BSA approved child seat, trailer or tag-a-long.

Please make sure your bike is in good working order, Ride Leaders are there to help but are not responsible for your bike.

  • Paul Stocks Hi, I'm Paul - aged 37 and i'm from Middlesbrough. I Attended a Skyride leadership course in May 2013 as an opportunity to do something different, something for the community and for cycling.

    I started riding on an old mountain bike about 10 years ago and I've never really looked back. Don't try it - It's quite a tricky manoeuvre on a bike!

    Seriously, I love cycling and i'm just looking forward to getting out on the Sky rides and meeting you all.

  • Kevin McConnell Kevin McConnell Hi I'm Kev. I have been cycling for a few years now but over the past couple have really caught the bug. I became a sky ride leader to share cycling with anyone that's willing to climb on a bike and enjoy themselves. Although I do enjoy challenging myself on a ride I believe the social aspects of cycling are equally important and it's a great way including all ages and abilities. I look forward to meeting people on sky rides and hope I can help you enjoy this great pastime.
  • Paul Steele Paul Steele Into my forth year now as a ride leader. It was Skyride that got me back into cycling when it first came to Middlesbrough. I started by attending a local ride every Sunday and quickly got hooked. It has changed my life as I rarely go a day without going out on my bike whether it's commuting to and from work or for longer rides on a weekend for pleasure. I became a ride leader to encourage new riders to get into cycling like Skyride helped me. I hope to see you on a ride soon!
