Laura Trott backs the Big Breeze Bike Ride
Published 17 May 2012

We're delighted that World Champion cyclist Laura Trott is supporting the Big Breeze Bike Ride.
Laura, from Cheshunt in Hertfordshire, picked up two gold medals at the 2012 World Track Cycling Championships in Melbourne, and was part of a trio of young British riders who broke the Team Pursuit world record twice in one day.
Laura says: 'I’ve cycled since I was a child and have always loved the freedom it’s given me to go places. Riding my bike helps keep me in shape all year round and tones my whole body. Unfortunately I’m currently in the minority because a lot of girls have a fear factor about cycling but once you’ve tried it you’ll never look back.'
Laura, who we're hoping to be cheering on at the London Olympics this summer, reckons the Big Breeze Bike Ride, an event to get as many women in the UK cycling over the same weekend, is a fantastic idea.
'The Big Breeze Bike Ride is a great opportunity to get that confidence on two wheels, whilst having great fun with your friends,' she says. 'Girls – don’t miss out, make sure you get on your bike on 23-24 June!'
