Cycle commuters fuel up in Preston
Published 21 September 2011
Preston cycle commuters got some welcome advice and sustenance from British Cycling at a special event recently, designed to encourage more people to ride to work.
Organised in partnership with the START campaign, a national initiative to promote and celebrate sustainable living, the event in Winckley Square Gardens on 21st September offered around forty cyclists free breakfasts. Local Police staff were on hand to postcode stamp bikes, and there was bike maintenance assistance from Sutcliffe's bikes, as well as information and advice from Lancashire County Council, Preston City Council, Cycling Projects, Preston on Wheels and British Cycling's Regional Recreation Manager Peter Haymes.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by, and to Kelloggs for supporting the event.
