Sky Ride Local in Ipswich

Get out and explore the countryside with the brand new rural off-road routes from Sky Ride Local.  Off-road Ride Well is mostly traffic free rural bike riding for the family and novice cyclist.  There is barely a metre of tarmac in sight on these rides so come and enjoy the scrunch of gravel and the squelch of mud under your tyres with us!

Join us on this pleasant meander through Rendlesham Forest around the abandoned "Cold War" airfield of RAF Woodbridge.  During WWII the Fog Investigation and Dispersal Operation system, or FIDO for short, was developed here to enable emergency landings. It was also the location of a famous UFO sighting in 1980!  We might not see any aliens but we will have a great time riding bikes in a beautiful off-road environment.  If a flat 9 mile gentle ride in amazing surroundings is your idea of fun then this is definitely the ride for you!

Additional Information

Helmets must be worn by all under 18's regardless of ride level.
The minimum age for these rides is 11, there must be no child trailers or child seats, the child capable of riding within the demands of the off-road specification.
Please bring equipment with you to repair punctures.
Ride Leaders are there to help but are not responsible for your bike.
All rides leave at the time stated you must arrive early Ride Leaders will not wait.

• Kelvin Dakin Over 60 and not quite retired. I have always cycled for pleasure and fitness and was introduced to mountain biking many years ago. This continues to be my main passion and I have ridden many routes in England, Scotland and Wales. I love getting out into the Suffolk countryside exploiting the few good bridleways and byways that we have.
  I volunteer as a Sustrans Ranger looking after part of the National Cycle Network.
