Sky Ride Local in Blackburn with Darwen

If you’re fairly confident on your bike on dirt and gravel surfaces and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Off-Road Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, there is barely a metre of tarmac in sight on these rides so come and enjoy the scrunch of gravel and the squelch of mud under your tyres with us! Rides are between 6 and 15 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.

Join us for a great off-road ride that is made up of mostly off-road moorland tracks. We'll ride along the edge of Belmont Reservoir, taking in the ruins of Hollinshead Hall, and great views of Winter Hill. Roddlesworth Cafe offers much needed drinks and snacks for when we return from our 8 mile off-road ride in the Lancashire hills!

Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Peter Wareing Peter Wareing
  • Lee Shorrock Lee Shorrock Hi I'm lee I've been a ride leader since June 2013 I've been cycling for 5 years now. I also enjoy running, swimming, football and a father of four .
I started cycling as away of commuting to work and help aid my running and got hooked. From there I've progressed to competing in triathlons .
The reason why I become a ride leader is that there's always been someone who's gone out there way to help me ie with my swimming and cycling and I see this as a great opportunity to give something back.

    hope I see u around
