Sky Ride Local in South Ribble

You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins, but you’ll need to know your way around a bike and be fairly fit to take part in our Challenging rides. If you’re comfortable riding with other people and fancy a fresh challenge, these rides are perfect for you. They start at around twenty miles long, and are paced at between 11 and 12 miles an hour.

A meandering ride through the quiet villages and rural roads around the mosses of the South Ribble area. Plenty to see along the way from canal boats to vast greenhouses and even a four foot owl perched on a tree!

Meet the Ride Leaders

  • David Gara David Gara Always loved cycling. Got back into it a few years ago after hiring a mountain bike on holiday. Now all the family is hooked - my eldest is also a Skyride leader!
I also help out at my youngest's primary school as a Bikeability instructor
    .
Looking forward to some good rides this summer so feel free to book a place.
  • Helen Singleton Hi I am a keen cyclist who likes to encourage my friends and colleagues to join me on rides at weekends, You will see us around the Trough Of Bowland and climbing over Belmont but I don't expect the local rides to be as hilly, was good practice for cycling Coast to Coast there and back, 380 miles in four days in June.

Two years ago I completed a number of the Local Sky Rides and enjoyed them so much thougth it would be a fantastic idea to volunteer and get involved if they were to be repeated. I went out every weekend last summer 2011 and really enjoyed meeting everyone on the rides.

I enjoy the group rides as they give me the opportunity to meet new people and particpate in an activity that I enjoy with like minded individuals.

Recently completed a coaching and training course.
  • Keith Singleton Keith Singleton A keen year round cyclist, with a good milage under my belt, cycle to work a great deal, and get out at every availible oppurtunity.
love the outdoors and fresh air, get satisfaction from passing my knowledge ansd skillls on, to enable other people to enjoy cycling.
