Sky Ride Local in Birmingham

You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins, but you’ll need to know your way around a bike and be fairly fit to take part in our Challenging rides. If you’re comfortable riding with other people and fancy a fresh challenge, these rides are perfect for you. They start at around twenty miles long, and are paced at between 11 and 12 miles an hour.

A circular ride out from Sutton Park to historic Tamworth Castle. Within just a couple of miles we'll be  in beautiful countryside taking in views of local scenery along the rolling lanes of Staffordshire. The 29 mile route is mainly on roads so all bikes are suitable. Perfect for a blast of fresh air and a challenging ride out in great company!

Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Rob Pearson I'm a keen cross-country mountain bike rider who dabbles in road cycling. I'm trained as a mountain bike leader, and intend to try and make a living out of cycling one day. I also enjoy climbing, Kung-Fu, and snowboarding. Despite all this, I'm probably still twice the size of your average skinny-tyre Lycra clad roadie.
  • Carl Miller Carl Miller Hi there, I started cycling in march 2011 and after taking part in a few Sky Rides found myself hooked. I now cycle to work daily and try to get at least a couple of distance rides in each week. I am looking forward to participating in the Sky Ride program again this year and am looking forward to meeting new riders.
I am a keen scuba diver and enjoy most outdoor activities
  • Peter Hoare Hi, I'm Pete, I am new to SkyRide Leading for 2013 and am enjoying helping people get back into cycling. Since I got bitten by the 'Bike Bug' I am loving being out on the bike at every opportunity for the health benefit, the social aspects and mainly for the fun.
Most importantly I beleive that Cycling should be fun and I hope that if you come along to one of the rides I am on that you have a great time!
