  • Melanie Carroll Melanie Carroll Me? Fun, friendly, a bit of a cycle chimp!
Cycles to work most every day, and loves to cycle even in the rain. In fact loves to cycle in the rain - it's just really fun, but then so is cycling in the sun, or in a gentle breeze but not when it's blowing a gale!
Short rides are lovely and long rides are a dream, but I'm not a speed racer as I love to enjoy the view with a few stops for pictures and refreshments too :D
Riding a sit up and beg bike currently but can't pull off that Copenhagen cycle chic they all talk about, probably due to being a bit of a cycle chimp (just ask the mascot on the front of my bike!).
Used to ride a beautiful old 5 speed drop handlebar sports bike but sadly I got too old and creaky for it after a tumble that damaged my hip but not my enthusiasm.
I love to cycle and I really hope that I can share that love with lots of other people too, partly why
I'm also a National Standards (Bikeability) Instructor.
My day to day cycle commute takes me to my Independent bookshop - Unicorn Tree Books & Crafts in Lincoln Central Market - and I'm as passionate and committed to books, crafts and community as I am to cycling :D
  • Ashley Toyne Hi everyone!

I'm Ashley, I've been back on a bike since 2011 not having ridden since being at school.

I started back with a mountain bike due to a coast to coast charity ride I did in 2012, I've since moved onto road riding as well as the occasional mountain bike challenge (Viking Challenge, War Of The Wolds)

I am excited to be a part of Sky Ride and to be able to help people get interested / more confident in their abilities on a bike as I see it to be a great sport in which you can stay in shape and also a fantastic way to socialise too.

I really look forward to seeing some of you on the upcoming rides! Thanks!
