Meet the Ride Leaders

  • John Taylor John Taylor Hi,

I'm John 33 years old! Laid back and love to ride, This is 3rd season as a Sky ride leader. I have always been into bikes and been a mountain biker since I could ride. Quite recently the road riding bug has bit me and I just like to get out as much as I can.

if you wanna know anything else please feel free to ask
  • Melanie Connell I started cycling regularly again a few years ago when I taught my son to ride. First just round parks and traffic free routes, now my confidence has grown so much I have got rid of my car and use my bike as my main mode of transport. I enjoy the social aspect that riding in a group has given me so seized the opportunity to become a ride leader for British Cycling with Sky Ride Local. I love cycling and if I can inspire more people to share my passion I will gain real job satisfaction. I look forward to meeting lots of new Sky Riders this season!
  • Martin Ariss Martin Ariss Hi all, well this is now my 3rd year as a Sky leader proving that I really enjoyed the first two. This is a great way to meet people with similar interests ( 2 wheels, spokes, etc etc ) although I have met a couple of people on 3 wheels on some of the rides. I enjoy hearing your tales of cycling and your experiences and also enjoy speaking to people who arent sure of their skills and abilities but prove to themselves and the leaders that they are a confident rider in distance and in group riding. I look forward to meeting you all this year.

Rider Comments on the Route

  1. IAN CHAMBERLAIN Saturday 12th July
  2. keith simpson Sunday 14th July
  3. Neil Robinson Sunday 14th July
The ride was well lead by Rob, however it was classed as a Challenging ride but the average speed was only 7 mph. Overall the route was well planned and the stop off at Crosby was very pleasant in the Sunshine. I would recommend that the ride was rated as 'Steady' as it is not possible to increase the speed when on the Canal Towpaths.
